Job summary To maintain properly and effectively, all building structures fabric and finishes within the Community sites and associated buildings, related to the job title. The post holder will assist in a multiskilled service to the Community Engineering Department and other directorates within Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT). Responsible for effective maintenance of the Trust's building/technical infrastructure. To carry out day to day maintenance of building/engineering plant as directed by Team Managers on a daily basis .To attend to plant breakdowns, carry out repairs and restore the units to service as quickly and efficiently as possible. With support to be able to fault find on electric motors and their associated control gear. To activate changeover of plant and or its safe isolation in the event of a malfunction or breakdown. Experience in fault finding and installation on building mechanical services Able to carry out minor mechanical work such as connection/disconnection of belt drives, pulley and direct drive couplings. To maintain and efficiently run plant and equipment and to instruct others on the above features and other aspects of the work. To efficiently diagnose and repair faults in mechanical installations, plant and equipment, to deal with new situations as they arise and to pass on knowledge to others.
