The University of Lincoln is a university of and for the 21st Century. Created by the people of Lincolnshire, we are as much the university for Lincoln, as the University of Lincoln.
The University is seeking an inspirational new Head of the School of Design & Architecture. One of seven schools in the College of Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities and formed in September 2024 from the merger of the School of Design with the School of Architecture & the Built Environment, the School brings together architecture, technology and design to address today’s growing need to design, build and utilise spaces socially, economically and sustainably. Students and staff of the School have access to modern, high quality facilities, including Project Space Plus, an on-campus public gallery for shows and exhibitions. The upcoming opening of the Barbican Creative Hub will add further opportunities for developing, connecting and showcasing creative talent.
The successful candidate will play an active role in the wider management of the College alongside providing vision and strategic leadership to the School, growing research, modernising education, improving student outcomes and motivating staff to work individually and collectively towards the achievement of the School’s plans. The new Head of School will be an experienced academic leader with demonstrable academic and/or professional credibility, able to engage teams, build relationships and combine high level strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
We are values driven, focused and ambitious, always evolving and looking for the next challenge. We strive for excellence in everything we do to fulfil our purpose of transforming lives and communities in Lincolnshire.
