We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Director of Legal, Compliance and Assurance/Council Monitoring Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to lead key functions, including legal services, elections, internal audit, data protection, information governance, and risk management, while ensuring the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and accountability across Dudley Council. As the Council’s Monitoring Officer, you will provide expert legal and governance advice, oversee compliance with statutory obligations, and modernise our democratic processes. You will also play a key role in driving organisational transformation, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring service delivery is aligned to the needs of the community.
