Position Title: Cleaning Operative
Reports To: Supervisor/Facilities Manager
Location: Lowton, Warrington, WA3 2RD
Working Hours: 9AM TO 11AM (Sat & Sun Only)
Job Purpose:
As a Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness in assigned areas. You will play a crucial role in creating a safe, welcoming, and pleasant environment for staff, visitors, and clients by ensuring spaces are clean, sanitized, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Cleaning Tasks:
o Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in designated areas.
o Dust and wipe surfaces, including desks, furniture, and fixtures.
o Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
o Empty waste bins and dispose of trash appropriately.
2. Specialized Cleaning Duties:
o Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors as required.
o Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, and buffers.
o Perform deep-cleaning tasks, including carpet shampooing and upholstery cleaning.
3. Replenishment and Maintenance:
o Restock toiletries, hand soaps, and paper products in restrooms and kitchens.
o Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs, such as damaged fixtures or equipment malfunctions.
4. Health and Safety Compliance:
o Follow all health and safety protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
o Ensure compliance with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) guidelines when handling hazardous materials.
o Use protective clothing and equipment as required.
5. Teamwork and Communication:
o Coordinate with other team members to complete tasks efficiently.
o Report any incidents, accidents, or areas needing attention to the supervisor.
o Communicate courteously with staff, visitors, or clients when required.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Essential:
o Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
o Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks for extended periods.
o Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and safety practices.
* Desirable:
o Previous experience in a similar role.
o Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
o Experience using specialized cleaning equipment.
