Contract: Initially 2 months (with extension) Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Recruitment Officer to oversee and coordinate recruitment processes within Hackney Children and Families Service. In this role, you will ensure fair, transparent, and effective recruitment across various positions, including permanent, fixed term, secondments, agency placements, and more. You will work closely with senior managers, the corporate recruitment team, and service managers to meet the recruitment needs of the service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the workforce within a vital and dynamic public service. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring recruitment practices align with the Children and Families Service Workforce Development Strategy, as well as the anti-racist action plan. Key Responsibilities Oversee recruitment across all employment types (permanent, fixed term, secondments, etc.), ensuring compliance with Children and Families Service Recruitment Protocol. Ensure transparent and efficient recruitment processes, including advertisements, shortlisting, interviews, assessments, and post-interview communication. Work with senior managers and the corporate recruitment team to resolve recruitment issues and ensure smooth processes. Contribute to the implementation of the Children and Families Service Workforce Development Strategy and anti-racist action plan. Monitor recruitment progress and prepare reports for senior managers on recruitment activities. Coordinate induction processes for new starters and develop systems for recruitment evaluation. Promote diversity and inclusion in recruitment efforts, and develop flexible, technology-driven recruitment methods. Advocate for meaningful participation of young people in recruitment. Provide leadership and support to an apprentice, helping them develop their skills. Maintain effective systems for tracking recruitment and workforce data. About You To succeed in this role, you will need: A degree or relevant professional qualification (or equivalent experience). A strong understanding of the framework governing the Children and Families Service, including relevant legislation and regulations. Experience in managing spreadsheets and using Google Sheets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, with a focus on anti-racist practices. Experience in managing recruitment processes, including evaluating their effectiveness. Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. A working knowledge of ICT systems and software packages. Line management experience is desirable but not essential.
