Accessibility Auditor | ASAP start + rolling contract | Fully Remote | Inside IR35 if UK based
We are looking for an UX Accessibility Auditor will play a critical role in evaluating and ensuring the accessibility of our digital products. This includes conducting audits, providing recommendations for improvements, and collaborating with various teams to implement accessibility best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accessibility standards, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for inclusive design.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Accessibility Audits: Perform comprehensive audits of websites, mobile apps, and other digital products to identify accessibility issues based on WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and other relevant standards.
2. Generate Reports: Document findings and create detailed reports outlining accessibility issues, their impact, and recommended solutions.
3. Provide Recommendations: Offer actionable recommendations to designers, developers, and content creators to address accessibility barriers.
4. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with UX/UI designers, developers, and product managers to integrate accessibility into the design and development process.
5. Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest accessibility standards, technologies, and best practices.
6. User Testing: Facilitate user testing sessions with individuals with disabilities to gather feedback and insights.
7. Training and Advocacy: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate staff on accessibility principles and best practices.
8. Compliance Monitoring: Ensure ongoing compliance with accessibility standards throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications:
9. Experience: 5+ years of experience in accessibility auditing, UX design, or a related field.
10. Knowledge: Strong understanding of WCAG (AA and AAA) guidelines, ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) practices, and other relevant accessibility standards.
Skills:
11. Proficiency in using accessibility testing tools
12. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
15. Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
16. Experience working in an agile development environment.
17. Familiarity with usability testing methods and tools.
18. Experience with mobile accessibility auditing.
19. Knowledge of international accessibility standards (, EN 301 549)
