Lecturer - Biological Science 40,170 - 48,357 (Pro rata) 0.48 FTE / 16.8 Hours Based at Falkirk Campus Fixed-term to July 2025 The Department of STEM and Construction wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Lecturer of Biology to work with learners across SCQF levels 4 to 8. You will produce high quality learning, teaching and assessment materials, and deliver excellent teaching to a range of learners. You will work with the Biology Team to develop new approaches to teaching, making use of learning technologies while ensuring that the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date. You will contribute to the development of provision and enhance students' learning by providing specialist subject support. Preferably educated to Degree level, and while teaching experience is an advantage industrial experience is also valued. You will have a strong learner focus and a can-do attitude. You will be an enthusiastic and effective team player, good at problem-solving, an excellent teacher, supportive, good at communicating orally and in writing, with good organisational skills. Recent experience of developing innovative teaching practice along with good organisational skills and evidence of appropriate ICT skills is desirable, including a working knowledge of MS Teams. A good understanding of quality standards, health and safety requirements and experience of delivering training in related subjects is also desirable. Based in our Falkirk campus, it may be a necessary to work in other campuses as required. The working pattern for this post will be Tuesday/Thursday 09:00 - 16:45 and Friday 09:00-12:18.
