Description Costain is working closely with Severn Trent Water on their Capital Delivery Framework, as part of its c£2 billion capital programme for AMP7. As part of the Design and Build Framework lot, Costain brings together its design, construction, and consultancy expertise to undertake renewal and refurbishment projects and will assist Severn Trent in its target to make continuous improvements to its safety performance, whilst ensuring continuity of supply and consequently lowering costs of its customers. Client facing role requiring the individual to discuss and negotiate complex MEICA issues with the client and formulate credible solutions in a professional and collaborative manner. Experience of integrating new equipment into an existing treatment works. Experience of Water and wastewater treatment processes would be an advantage. Proven Competence in the full spectrum of MEICA installation and commissioning either by academic or apprenticeship routes. Develop outline commissioning strategies for projects. Develop and approve Commissioning Plans and other documentation relevant to the commissioning of assets. Develop and approve Intrusive works plans Develop cost effective engineering specifications and schedules for tender. Assess bids and make recommendations for tender awards. Leading a team of Commissioning Managers and Engineers Carry out quality assessment of the design works to ensure that at the design stage of the project, risk assessment in accordance with the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulation was taken into consideration. Liaise with site teams regarding the installation process as a technical support. Review of existing design of all electrical and mechanical systems. Management and supervision of the installation, offline and on-line commissioning Procure, Plan and Manage MEICA installation and commissioning activities Ensure the existing treatment system is not unduly affected by the installation and commissioning activities. Ensure high standards of safety and environmental protection are consistently maintained on site Ensure final product is to specification, right first time and quality records are available Deliver in line with client KPMs & KPIs and values Qualifications Understanding of Engineering Principles Knowledge and understand of Electrical qualifications such as BS7671, C&G electrical is desirable. Understanding of sewage treatment, sludge and clean water process systems Understanding of WIMES and water engineering standards Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices. Relevant CSCS Card Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS / IOSH ) IT literate in MS Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint Confident, Self-motivated & Self-tasking A proven ability to organise and manage multiple tasks and a diverse team
