Job summary
This is a fantastic development opportunity to gain invaluable experience as a clinical pharmacist with the option of studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, if desired. Registered pharmacists currently working in any sector are welcome to apply. The post is a permanent post, up to full time hours and can be flexible in base within North Powys.
You will be working in conjunction with a growing team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and your development will be further supported by the Health Board Medicines Management team and an experienced multidisciplinary workforce, including GPs.
You will be pivotal to the quality of care and operational efficiency, with regard to medicines, across Powys and will travel around one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Your communication, clinical and innovative skills will be used to demonstrate the significant input that pharmacy professionals of all grades have to offer to patient care and multidisciplinary teams.
Main duties of the job
The role will be based within the Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) community services team and will offer Medicines Management support to designated community hospital wards and departments and community teams, this may include reviewing patients in their own homes.
There is also a unique opportunity to support the implementation of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) at PTHB.

Qualifications and / or Knowledge
Essential
1. GPhC registered pharmacist or undertaking pre-registration training where registration must be in place before starting the position
2. Master's degree (MPharm) or equivalent BPharm or BSc in Pharmacy, and highly developed specialist knowledge
3. Up to date broad clinical knowledge
4. Excellent understanding of pharmacy/medicines standards, legal requirements and guidelines
5. Awareness of implications of current developments in pharmacy practice and NHS Wales strategies/policies
6. Prepared to work towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or Therapeutics
Desirable
7. Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, working towards the faculty framework
8. Have knowledge of the differences between primary/secondar y care and NHS England/Wales interface issues
Experience

9. Completion of pre-registration year, some of which in a hospital or similar environment
10. Experience of working as a clinical pharmacist
