With c 80 employees, the Dalkia group centre has HR, Finance, Legal, IT, QSHE and Communications teams supporting our business unit colleagues in these specialisms. We provide technical expertise, governance, policy, guidance and support to the business units to provide a high-quality service to their own people and their clients. Roles in the centre work closely with Executive team to shape and deliver our strategic goals but also partner with the business functions to embed the values, behaviours and strategic ambitions.
Summary of the role:
Trainee accountant to support the accountant on the day to operations of the finance function, to ensure timely delivery, of the business-critical information against the set business timetable. Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with data entry, processing, and recording transactions.
2. Reconciling invoices and identifying discrepancies
3. Issue invoices to customers and external/Internal partners, as needed.
4. Update the ledger, reconcile accounts, and audit and process vendor bills.
5. Administrative duties, including implementing financial procedures when they’re introduced into the department. You also get involved in budgeting and preparing financial reports. You should expect to manage work schedules as required.
6. Reporting discrepancies, mistakes, or potential fraud to senior management
7. Complying with financial laws and regulations alongside in-house policies
8. Researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion
9. Dealing with subsidiary finance department queries.
10. Provide general accounts support.
11. Assist Management accountant with Year-end audit participation.
12. Daily bank reconciliations of the group
13. Standing data analysis for NAV
General & Other Responsibilities:

15. Cooperate with team members and other departments.
16. Ad-hoc duties as required.
17. Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
Skills and experience:
18. Level 4 AAT, Or BSc/Ba in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
19. 1 years’ relevant experience required
20. Basic understanding of key accountancy principles and processes
