Role : Finance Assistant Contract : Permanent Hours : Full-time, Monday - Friday Business Hours Salary : £28,000 - £32,000 per annum We seek a bright and capable Finance Assistant to support our London-based finance team. We operate several stand-alone lines of business in the UK which prepare independent management accounts and we have two qualified accountants who are responsible for overall management reporting supported by a transaction management team in India. Key Responsibilities: Entering Customer receipts, Supplier payments and other bank transactions and performing bank reconciliations for review Ensuring that VAT codes are correctly input Reviewing and reconciling Debtor and Creditor Accounts (including prepayments and accruals) Performing a variety of accounting reconciliations including group intercompany accounts Performing Credit control activities and providing information to support cash flow forecasting and management Supporting the production of the monthly management accounts Performing an initial review to identify and escalate reporting discrepancies or control issues Completing monthly tasks checklists, particularly to ensure that processing and reconciliations and controls are complete Assisting with preparing Year-end audit files, ensuring all information and supporting documents are electronically available, by the agreed timeframe. Assisting others in the Finance Team with any other duties as required, including the upkeep of electronic records Requirements Experience: Part Qualified and actively pursuing qualification At least 3 years of Finance work experience, 2 years of accounting and reporting Demonstrable Intermediate Excel skills Numerate and good attention to detail Able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility Motivated team player with good interpersonal skills and strong desire to support the team in meeting organisational objectives Skills: Good planning and organisational skills Good time-management skills Ability to resolve problems and queries quickly and efficiently Good written and verbal communication skills in English· Hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting activities, balance sheet and other reconciliations and monthly and annual account closures Good Communicator, “ Make It Happen” attitude, and should be ready to work under pressure and long hours based on the business requirements Have a good working relationship with the wider finance team and other departments. MIS and Reporting: Maintain financial records for the UK business in a manner that facilitates timely and accurate Management reports Assist FP&A teams with the preparation of budgets by providing relevant information on a regular basis Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of the overall company.
