Job summary This is a fantastic opportunity fora Band 8a 0.4WTE Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist within our Learning Disability Team in West Cheshire, to work alongside the current postholder. This post is fixed term for 1 year initially. We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is passionate about the delivery of safe and effective services. You will direct and lead the Learning Disability Occupational Therapists within the care group, in conjunction with the current postholder, ensuring their work is needs led, evidence based and in line with current legislation, Values and Service principles. You will provide clinical expertise around meaningful and purposeful occupation and its impact on mental and physical health, challenging behaviour and autism, whilst working within the context of a multi-professional framework, whilst having a detailed working knowledge of other factors that are relevant to the post and client group. Main duties of the job The post holder, as part of a virtual senior workforce will pick up extended responsibilities outside of the locality area, inclusive of but not exhaustive to the Learning Disability, NDD and ABI Care Group and wider Trust, related to Occupational Therapy quality, leadership, professional development of the workforce alongside the current postholder. The post holder will carry a shared caseload with the current postholder of clients with learning disabilities whom have the most complex needs, where a very high level of clinical expertise is required to deliver care that will reduce health inequalities for people with learning disabilities, including those with challenging behaviour and/or autism. This post will include leading on strategic and developmental role and taking on MDT manager responsibilities within the care group leadership structure as well as leading Occupational Therapists in the overall approach to clinical assessments of clients within area and out of area placements & will act as transformational role model/guide to deliver specialist learning disability assessment, intervention & outcomes.
