Key Responsibilities:
1. Travelling extensively across the country to carry out ecological assessments for highway projects
2. Conducting thorough surveys and habitat assessments to identify species and habitats of importance
3. Providing expert advice to ensure compliance with ecological legislation and regulations
4. Producing detailed ecological reports and technical notes for clients
5. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate ecological considerations into project planning and delivery
6. Ensuring all ecological services are carried out to the highest professional standards and with no SDC (Significant Delays or Complications)
7. Contributing to the development of ecological strategies and policies within the organisation
Job Requirements:
1. Proven experience in ecological assessments within the highway sector
2. Strong knowledge of ecological legislation and best practices
3. Ability to travel extensively and work independently in various locations across the country
4. Excellent report writing and communication skills
5. Proficiency in ecological surveying techniques and habitat assessment methodologies
6. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
7. Relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
