Our client specializes in maximizing the service performance of process plant and equipment, used to convey, store or process bulk solid materials within utilities, primary manufacturing, and process industries. The company’s service offering consists of a package of design, manufacture, protection, and site installation of process plant equipment. Performing to international standards of best practice with regard to quality control, environmental, and health & safety, the company aligns themselves with the expectations of their valued customer base of internationally recognized OEMs, EPC contractors, and end users, many of whom are PLCs operating on a global basis.
The Requirement
The company is looking to appoint a high caliber commercially focused UK Sales Manager. It’s a time of real growth and a great opportunity for someone to be part of helping to lead this positive change.
Core Role & Responsibilities
Key elements of this leadership role will entail:
1. Working closely with the Sales Director on strategic revenue growth and helping to make this happen.
2. Planning, managing, and interacting with both existing and new customer accounts within the marketplace.
3. Improving, enhancing, and modernizing the company’s sales processes and procedures.
4. Visiting customers on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to assess customer requirements and possible short, medium, and long-term opportunities.
5. Demonstrating the technical capability and advantages of the solutions and services offered to potential customers.
6. Promoting both up and cross-selling benefits and functions to all customer accounts.
7. Assisting with after-sales and service queries, investigating customers' CARs, and ensuring that they are dealt with to the customers' satisfaction.
Expertise & Fit
1. Proven sales experience in “heavy industrial markets,” i.e., bulk equipment handling and/or process industry environments.
2. A commercially focused person, likely to be a Business Development Manager or Sales Manager.
3. Sales Manager career experience to date within industrial engineering companies, manufacturing, or services – ideally currently based in the West Midlands or near to.
4. Someone with an engineering mindset, with manufacturing industry knowledge, who can talk knowledgeably and credibly with staff and the target customer base.
5. Culturally, a strong fit with the size of business and nature of the environment.
6. A Sales Manager who will roll their sleeves up, be hands-on, visible, and invested in the future.
7. A “blue sky thinker” who is positive, driven, and able to work well with the Directors.
8. Excellent all-round communication skills, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from all members of staff through to key customers.
