Job Description The Service & Team: The Early Years Education Effectiveness Service in Together for families The Role This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies. This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check. This role entails providing support, guidance, training and information for early years providers in Cornwall, including schools, nurseries, pre-schools and childminders. You will work as part of a team and support our mission to make Cornwall a 'Great place to be a child and grow up'. Our aim is to improve outcomes for all children and to close the gap for disadvantaged children. Safeguarding is an essential part of our role as is supporting settings to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS). You will in partnership with colleagues in the Early Years Inclusion and SEND team and with wider partners across the Local Authority. Working Pattern 2.5 days a week on teachers Pay and Conditions What You’ll Need To Succeed The post holder must have Qualified Teacher status (QTS) with an early years qualification and experience of teaching children within the Early Years Foundation Stage. They should have an understanding of child development across the early years, including babies, toddlers, pre-school and reception aged children. Good communication skills and effective professional working relationships with colleagues. Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and all aspects of Ofsted registration and inspection for EYFS settings and schools. Ability to work as part of a team and to work in a flexible way as well as independently Able to identify and prioritise the development needs of providers and to support and coach setting staff Ability to communicate effectively with ICT (e mail, and Teams/Zoom) and to write clear and concise reports. Ability to develop and confidently lead effective staff training and development in order to improve practitioner knowledge, understanding and reflective practice Able to be proactive and responsive in order to be effective in responding to diverse needs.
