Position Overview:
My client is seeking a Fee Earner at or near LAA Supervisor status in Community Care and/or Education. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience across a broad range of cases in Education, Health, and Social Care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a diverse caseload in community care, including transitions from children to adult services.
2. Advise on issues related to mental capacity.
3. Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
4. Self-supervise to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Requirements:
1. Demonstrated experience in community care casework, particularly in transitions from children to adult services.
2. Knowledge of mental capacity issues.
3. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
4. Self-supervision skills.
Desirable:
1. Meets LAA supervisor requirements for the Community Care and/or Education legal aid contract.
2. Experience in the Court of Protection, including independently managing a caseload.
3. Familiarity with NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) policies and procedures for adults and children.
4. Understanding of community care and public law issues arising from education cases.
5. Experience in providing education advice and tribunal representation.
6. Knowledge of deputyship applications and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
7. Experience supervising team members.
8. Relevant professional qualification (e.g., solicitor, FILEX) or working towards the same.
9. Established professional contacts, ability to bring in own cases, and willingness to market the firm’s high-quality services.
