Part Time, 24 hours per week We are looking for a highly organised Awards Assessor, who can work to their own initiative and follow policies and procedures with a high level of accuracy to join our friendly, supportive, Income and Awards team. You will be responsible for assessing how much a customer will be required to pay towards the cost of their social care using the statutory care and support act guidance. You will experience a great sense of job satisfaction as you help people to get the right benefits and support in what can be a difficult stage in their life. You will support customers to understand their charges for care and provide information and guidance on charging rules and our local policies. A key part of this role will be to assist customer to interact with different departments on complex queries and to ensure they experience a seamless service. You will need GCSE's Maths and English grades A-C or 4-9 (or equivalent Level 2 qualifications) or will be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of numeracy and literacy skills. Great communication skills and accuracy and attention to detail are also essential. We will provide individual training to support your transition to this area of work, undertaking the different types of financial assessments for adult social care charging. Working closely with other teams within Income and Awards, you will also be able to develop your knowledge and expertise in a broad range of processes. This role works on a hybrid basis and while the majority of your hours can be worked from home, you may be occasionally required to visit our offices in central Solihull to meet the needs of the service.
