Assistant Business Development Accountant

Your new role:
In this role you will be responsible for the provision of detailed insight and analysis to Force strategic decision makers within a secure and controlled financial systems environment. Additionally, you will proactively monitor and develop trend analysis using available data to provide understanding and awareness of strategic financial information.
Your Purpose:
• Assist with the development and management of the data quality, management information and data analytic functions within the Directorate to ensure that quality standards are met and maintained
• Assist with the development, collection and evaluation of Forcewide current and historic data to yield insights, trends and detailed analysis that drives strategic decision making
• Develop the links between financial and non-financial information to produce value adding insightful management information to better inform decision makers Assist with the delivery of efficiency planning, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains or savings.
• Assist with delivering the cross functional Directorate work on continuous improvement of processes and reporting.
• Ad hoc projects and support to the Finance Director.
What you'll need to succeed
• A holder of the AAT qualification.
• Developed commercial knowledge and business understanding. Strong technical accounting skills & knowledge and good excel skills.
• Experience of budgetary control, financial planning and forecasting at a senior level
• Strong people skills; comfortable in interacting with operational and financial staff and management at all levels of seniority.
• Well-developed communication and influencing skills. Collaborative approach.
• Attention to detail whilst still being able to work at a tactical level.
