We are looking for individuals to join our team in the Kingston office as a CIVIL ENGINEERING SENIOR DESIGNER.

Sounds awesome, but what would you be doing in this role?
The Senior Designer collaborates with engineers, project managers, and other professionals to produce detailed design drawings and documents for clients’ submissions and assists with the project during the construction phase. They serve as a guide for construction teams to follow during the construction process.
Using various industry software, they play a critical role in creating plans, drawings, and specifications for these projects ensuring all designs adhere to GEL design principles, client requirements, and relevant codes and standards. They will perform various engineering calculations, receiving direction from the Design Manager and/or the Engineer. The Senior Designer will utilize their design and communication skills to assist the team in meeting project milestones.
The Senior Designer will spend most of their time on their computer doing design work but may also perform site visits independently and/or with their team members as assigned. Mandatory Health & Safety training will be required for this role along with Security Clearances if deemed necessary by the project.

What qualifications would you need to be successful in this role?
1. Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology
2. 3-5 years of experience in a Designer role (can include co-op placements)
3. Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infraworks
4. Understanding of relevant industry codes and standards and municipal by-laws
5. Technical knowledge: exposure to land development projects
