Your Role Includes:
1. Providing teaching and support to pupils with autism, following individualised curriculums
2. Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons and activities, focusing largely on life skills
3. Supporting pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice
4. Providing behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
5. Providing personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)
6. Monitoring pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for pupil needs
7. Assisting with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time
Skills and Capabilities:
1. Minimum Grade C/4 or equivalent, in English Language & Maths
2. Professional, personal, or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities
3. Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour
4. Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required
5. Ability to keep calm in high-pressure situations
6. Own means of transport, due to location desirable
