Summary We’re looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team, playing a key role in designing and delivering electrical solutions for the water industry. With a growing portfolio of projects, particularly in the water sector, they offer a dynamic and supportive work environment focused on innovation and employee well-being. Roles/Responsibilities Produce high-quality electrical design deliverables ensuring safety and compliance. Develop design calculations and drawings for water industry projects. Lead and mentor junior designers, CAD technicians, and graduates. Oversee and review work from subcontract M&E design teams. Collaborate with equipment suppliers and manufacturers. Prepare design investigations, reports, and technical specifications. Ensure compliance with industry and company standards. Manage project changes and maintain accurate design records. Estimate design package hours and ensure timely delivery. Represent the company at meetings and design presentations. Qualifications & Experience Essential: Minimum 10 years’ experience in the water industry. Significant experience in low-voltage (LV) design. Awareness of mechanical and control systems. Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering. IT proficiency and experience with engineering drawing practices. Professional body registration and working towards Chartership.Preferred: Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification. Experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and control engineering. Exposure to high-voltage (HV), ICA, and LVA designs. Familiarity with wastewater and clean water projects. Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standards. Key Skills Strong technical knowledge in electrical design. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to mentor and develop junior team members. Results-focused with a keen eye for detail and compliance. Benefits & Details Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per year (permanent) OR £400 - £500 per day (contract, outside IR35). Location: Full-time office-based role in Manchester. Initial Projects: Various wastewater projects, including pumped storage solutions, odour control units, and rerouting return flows.
