As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a student who needs extra help to access the curriculum, build their confidence, and foster independence. Your role will be vital in ensuring that the student thrives academically and socially within the classroom. 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Responsibilities: Offer personalised one-on-one support to a student with specific learning requirements. Assist in facilitating lesson participation and adapting resources as needed to ensure engagement. Foster the student's social, emotional, and academic development. Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs). Provide behavioural and emotional support to promote the student’s well-being. Contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere. 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Requirements: Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, or similar role. A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to student support. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to individual student needs. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant certification) – desirable but not essential. Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
