Manufacturing Workstream Lead

Background:
A digital Transformation Programme has been established for Global Supply Chain named Smart Manufacturing to enable our 2030 ambition and support GSK’s growth ambition. This Programme will also drive alignment and accelerate value creation across R&D, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain. It will create an accelerated, digital transformation of the end-to-end Supply Chains to drive RFT, profitability, and improved working capital.
This role will be responsible for leading the manufacturing workstream of the Programme, working closely with workstream leads in CMC, Supply Chain and Quality, global and site based stakeholders in addition to business partners at many levels of the organization across GSC to lead and deliver the digital transformation for GSC.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, influential, and dynamic manufacturing leader to be part of the Smart manufacturing core team shaping the future direction of GSK’s supply chain. They will provide strong, technical, leadership to the core teams establishing standard technology platforms enabling the successful realisation of our Transformation goals.
Job Purpose:
The Smart manufacturing, Manufacturing workstream Lead will evolve and drive the manufacturing digital transformation at selected GSC sites through deployment of novel automation and digitisation solutions to realise the future state vision. The role is accountable for developing and executing the deployment plan, management of the programme’s capital plan, calculation and delivery of ROI for each site and reporting of monthly progress to GSC governances. developing and implementing the Change Management and Capability Development frameworks/tools as a core member of the Smart Manufacturing team. The role will effectively drive the delivery of identified activities and benefits, partnering, and influencing cross-functional business teams. Whilst the workstream needs to be well structured and performance focused, there is opportunity within the role to be creative and agile, shaping solutions and finding innovative approaches and optimal delivery methods.
The role will need to exhibit strong leadership and influence a wide range of stakeholders at many levels across GSK to gain commitment to plans and to identify and resolve risks/interdependencies and deliver expected value.
Key responsibilities:
* Accountable for developing and delivering standard technology architecture and automation solutions for selected GSC sites and External manufacturing. Change Management and Capability Development frameworks, approaches, plans and deliverables through different programme phases.
* Partner with the global tech organisation to ensure fit for purpose and innovative solutions are deployed.
* Use Artificial Intelligence by first intent to accelerate the transformation and business results.
* Responsible for working with Communications partners across GSC to shape and deliver overall communication plans, ensuring an ongoing strong and dynamic transformation identity and narrative
* Owning and driving the stakeholder engagement process knowledge transfer and training plans to support the integration and embedding of changes into business processes, systems, and teams
* Leading and enabling, in partnership with other workstream leads and Finance partners, the sizing and assessment of the business impact.
* Identification and the delivery of technical interventions in partnership with tech business leads.
* Leading the Smart Manufacturing, manufacturing team and providing programme oversight ensuring standard technology is deployed across GSC.
* Maintaining strong and collaborative relationships with stakeholders at many levels in the wider business and Tech teams, establishing networks cross-functionally and end to end to deliver expected value for GSC.
* Reporting progress monthly through GSC established governance.
* Role modelling GSK Behaviours with an enterprise mindset working across GSC and leading by example, working successfully and inclusively with different cultures
Job Related Experience
* Extensive experience in developing and delivering Smart manufacturing strategies across global, multi-cultural and multi-functional organisations
* Demonstrated experience in implementing digital transformation across dispersed organisations
* Demonstrated experience in defining and delivering capability and training programs in a digital or technology related discipline
* Experience of working in different cultures to collaborate and build relationships
* Proven Leadership skills
* Accountability mindset
* Demonstrable credibility with, and management of senior stakeholders, middle managers and team members
* Self-motivated, confident and resilient
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
* 10+ years in Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry, including experience in both manufacturing/Quality Ops and digital transformation
* 5 years of prior experience in Biologics/Vaccines operations
* 50% Travel required visiting sites to improve performance
Preferred Qualifications:
* Artificial intelligence qualification
* Possess strong leadership, scientific and business acumen, and ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines and ensure compliance to all GSK policies.
* Demonstrated leadership of Digital initiatives and cultural change year on year resulting in both financial and non-financial benefit and behavioural change
* Diagnostic capability to identify improvement opportunities
* Excellent coaching capabilities.
* Strong digital acumen
* Demonstrated ability to lead complex problem-solving efforts to achieve business objectives
