An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Respiratory Clinical Support Worker to join the team and assist in our objective to improve patient safety and the patient experience through the continued improvement in the quality of our services.
This is a 20 hours per week role and the post holder will work within the Respiratory team at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site and at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be working under the guidance and direction of the specialist respiratory nursing team. The post holder will receive training to undertake a wide variety of clinical and administration tasks including handling sleep equipment, managing sleep data, and helping patients with CPAP machines.
Main duties of role:
* Supporting CNS with sleep clinics
* Speaking with patients about CPAP compliance
* Carrying out CPAP mask fits and arranging new/replacement equipment
* Answering and triaging patient telephone messages
* Reviewing/validation of sleep service database
* Working across site
* Providing patients who are on long-term nebuliser medication with new/replacement nebuliser consumables
* Telephone reviews with patients post nebuliser assessments
* Ordering consumables as required

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in care
* NVQ Level 3 in care (desirable)
Experience and knowledge
* Sufficient experience in an acute healthcare setting to demonstrate a good understanding of clinical care in such an environment
* Previous experience of undertaking clinical skills as highlighted in job description
* Evidence of understanding the importance of patient documentation and record keeping skills.
