The Role:
As an SLD Teacher (KS4/KS5), you will:
* Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons for students with severe learning difficulties (SLD) at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
* Use a range of communication techniques, including Makaton, PECS, and AAC, to support student engagement and understanding.
* Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists, and families to develop and implement personalised education plans (EHCPs).
* Foster a nurturing and structured learning environment that promotes independence and life skills.
* Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant SEN teaching qualification.
* Proven experience working with students with SLD, complex needs, and communication difficulties.
* Strong knowledge of multi-sensory teaching approaches and assistive technology.
* A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs.
* Experience working with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
