Job summary A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Clinical Psychologist to work full time in the large psychology team based at Llanarth Court Hospital. The team consists of experienced qualified psychologists, Trainee and Assistant Psychologists. Llanarth Court Hospital has seven wards and cares for Forensic patients with a range of mental health needs. Our Psychologists work alongside colleagues from Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work to provide high quality care. Main duties of the job The Psychologist we are looking for will be experienced in assessment and formulation to help determine the treatment needs of individual service users. The role also includes providing training to staff, running reflective practice, writing risk assessments and providing individual and group interventions, to meet the needs of the population. There is a large established and supportive psychology team at Llanarth Court to provide the backdrop to the work on the units. We are looking for someone with a creative and compassionate approach, with an enthusiasm for improving the quality of life of our service users both whilst they are in our care and as they progress to less restrictive environments. The hospital has 96 beds across 7 wards with male and female medium secure, and male low secure and individualised packages of care. We are near the end of building two new fourteen bed units which is modern purpose built secure accommodation.
