An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our team of Cardiac Physiologists. The applicant must be competent to perform the full range of cardiac diagnostic tests including non-invasive testing, Cath lab, device implant, and follow-up. Candidates may be considered if competent in Cath lab procedures and device follow-up.
The successful candidates must be able to provide evidence of continuing professional development.
Suitable candidates must possess either a Degree in Clinical Physiology, or BTEC / HTEC in MPPM or equivalent. Applicants should be willing to work towards postgraduate qualification in Cardiac rhythm management (BHRS).
Voluntary AHCS Registration is essential. The suitable applicant should have the ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritize their individual workload, as well as work effectively within a team and support the development of junior staff.
The posts offer a full-time contract and a commitment to On-Call is required after successfully completing any identified training needs.
Main duties of the job
As a Cardiac Physiologist, you will be required to perform without supervision a wide range of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic cardiac investigations. You must demonstrate a good underpinning knowledge in cardiac investigations and should be competent within non-invasive cardiac testing, Cath lab, pacemaker implants, and follow-up.
Appropriate training will be given to ensure you are working to a safe competent standard. You will be given the appropriate exposure and knowledge ensuring you develop and gain experience in the complete range of diagnostic complex cardiac investigations provided by Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

Job responsibilities
* Working through all areas of Cardiac Diagnostics.
* Perform specialised diagnostic cardiac physiological testing on patients to aid clinical diagnosis.
* Demonstrate empathy when dealing with patients in distressing conditions.
* Interpret results and provide factual reports for specialised diagnostic cardiac investigations.
* Communicate effectively and advise both clinical and non-clinical staff regarding outcomes of diagnostic investigations.
