Job description
The City of Lincoln Council Services Team is looking to recruit a self-motivated enthusiastic person to join our team.
Our team are responsible for the delivery of cyclical and compliance contracts, including gas, electric, lifts, water hygiene, fire fighting equipment and many other specialist services we provide to our residents.
We have a vacancy for a Gas Contracts Officer, a post which is essential to the business to monitor and manage the gas servicing, maintenance and installation contract.
Key responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the management of Gas compliance within the Council’s housing stock.
- Work under the general direction of the Services Team Leader to contribute to the achievements of service delivery to cyclical, compliance, and legislative works within the housing stock.
- To procure and monitor works contracts relating to central heating installations, service and maintenance and gas emergency call outs.
- Monitor delivery of elements of Gas/Heating works contained within the capital and revenue annual programmes of work.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- The ability to manage and monitor a contractor delivering gas servicing, maintenance and heating installation works across our housing portfolio of 7,800 properties.
- Proven knowledge of health and safety and gas regulations.
- Contract and Project management, responsible for ensuring that contractors deliver project work on time, within budget, work safely and provide a quality service to meet the contract specifications and project milestones.
- Experience of producing accurate specifications for heating works and the ability to analyse alternative solutions to ensure most appropriate cost benefit.
- The ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships across teams within the Housing directorate and external contractors and agencies.
- Ability to make decisions on technical matters and service delivery.
- ASCP/Gas Safe qualification/HNC in a Construction (related discipline) or evidence of continuous personal and professional development within this relevant industry.
