We aim to serve and support those in the local and wider community irrespective of their background. With a view to growing our engagement with the community, we have created this new role to help us deliver a wider and more exciting range of programme within our Corps (Church) building. As the Community Mission Facilitator, you will: • Support the delivery of the Corp spiritual programme, including children and young people’s activities • Explore new avenues of community-based ministry and, where appropriate, implement new programme elements in partnership with the Corps officer • To assist with developing and leading worship in the community programme where appropriate and lead worship on particular Sundays relevant to the expression of the Salvation Army • Providing chaplaincy and pastoral care visits • To undertake general administration associated with the Corps programme, ensuring that the paperwork is promptly and correctly dealt with, and accurate records maintained • To network with other local community and church organisations • Ensuring those aspects of the programme which are run as fund raising ventures operate as financially viable and effective units. • To become familiar with and apply safeguarding policy and procedures for the protection of vulnerable adults and children policies so that all aspects of the programme operate in accordance with the law.
