Job summary The Royal Marsden Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and motivated Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead the specialist nursing team for stem cell transplant and cellular therapy. This is a 21 month fixed term post to cover maternity leave. The post holder will oversee and line manage the clinical nurse specialist team, ensuring high-quality patient care and innovative service delivery throughout the patient pathway. The clinical work of the post holder will focus on cellular therapy, with occasional cover to support the transplant team as required. The post holder will work cross site, in both our Chelsea and Sutton hospitals. This is a demanding role therefore we are seeking a very well organised, energetic and self-motivated senior nurse who is able to manage their own time and workload. You must have current professional registration and recent relevant clinical experience. Main duties of the job Provide professional, clinical leadership and expertise in the case of the patient undergoing stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy treatment and to act as a resource and consultant to patients, carers and staff. Lead and manage the specialist nurses within the stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy group and review their remit within advanced nursing practice. Advise the Lead Nurse or Matron on matters pertaining to the provision of the specialist tumour nursing service across the Trust. Lead and formulate policies for the Trust and submit them through the committee. Liaise effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary health care team so as to achieve a co-ordinated specialist service across both sites of the Trust. Assist with the planning and development of speciality courses and teach on these courses and on relevant oncology diploma and degree courses.
