We are currently working with a High End Residential Contractor within London as well as the surrounding Counties. They have been operating for 6+ years and have built an excellent reputation with their exclusive group of clients in this short period of time.
They are known for providing exceptionally high levels of service and quality and mainly specialize in project management, bespoke joinery and high-end buildings in the Residential Sector. All projects typically span from 6 months to a year.
Projects:
1. Renovations and Refurbishments of houses located in London and the surrounding areas. Ranging from (phone number removed) sq.ft.
2. Adding Extensions onto high-end properties.
3. Refurbishment of a country house in Buckinghamshire as well as an internal reconfiguration.
The Role
Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Estimator to work on a mixture of high end residential new build, refurbishment and extension projects.
As the Senior Estimator you will be responsible for overseeing the cost estimation process for high-end residential construction projects.
This role requires strong leadership and analytical skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and clients to ensure project success.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for various project phases, including materials, labour, equipment, and other expenses.
2. Analyse project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand scope and identify cost drivers.
3. Lead the preparation of competitive bid proposals, ensuring thorough coverage of all project aspects.
4. Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
5. Work closely with project managers, architects, designers, and clients to clarify project requirements and provide regular updates on project status.
6. Participate in daily meetings and site visits to gather essential project information.
7. Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimation and incorporate appropriate contingencies.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and material pricing to ensure competitive estimates.
9. Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bids, and project-related documentation.
10. Provide regular reports to senior management on estimation activities and project progress.
11. Propose alternative construction methods, materials, and approaches to optimize project outcomes.
12. Mentor and guide junior estimators, providing support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
