Position: CNC Machinist at Provincial Park
Average hours: 42 hours per week, Sunday to Friday (24 hours D/N shift)
Job Summary
Machine forgings and tooling to specified drawings using manual and CNC machining centers. The parts machined serve the commercial and aerospace markets.
Key Objectives of the Role
1. H&S: Work safely and responsibly, ensuring safety for oneself and others.
2. Pre-shift Checks: Conduct specified health and safety checks, e.g., hoist crane.
3. Workplace Standards: Maintain high standards of housekeeping (5S duties).
4. Quality Compliance: Follow all quality procedures and processes.
5. Machining: Machine parts according to drawings.
6. Measurement: Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, wall thickness meters, and surface roughness gauges.
7. Material Handling: Manage material movements.
The Applicant
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Machining within +/- 0.025 tolerance
* Manual turning experience
* CNC milling/turning experience
* Understanding of Fanuc CNC controls
* Good communication skills
* Part programming (advantage)
* Flexibility
* Windows-based computer skills (advantage)
* Experience with machining forgings (advantage)
* Attention to detail
Knowledge
Apprentice trained in Mechanical Manufacturing or equivalent; forklift license (RTITB/ITSSAR or other accredited); overhead crane/lifting certification (advantage).
