Full job description We are a progressive independent Traffic Management business based in the South of England offering a wide range of traffic management schemes and expertise. We are looking for a HR Advisor & Administrator to join our Team as our business continues to grow rapidly. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing HR processes. Key Responsibilities: Onboarding: Aid in the recruitment process through video screenings and interviews where necessary. Conduct pre-employment checks where necessary. Employee Relations: Serve as first point of contact for employee queries, offering advice on workplace issues. Foster a positive workplace culture by promoting open communication and a supportive work environment. Coordinate the company’s probation management process. Compliance and Record Keeping: Maintain compliance with UK employment laws, including working time regulations, equal opportunities, health and safety, and data protection (GDPR). Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws. Monitor staff absence records, track holiday entitlements, and ensure sick leave is managed in line with company policy. Regularly monitor and advise on working time regulations and practices. HR Systems and Reporting: Maintain and update the HR information, ensuring all employee data is accurate and up to date. Generate regular HR/Management information reports, including turnover, retention, and absence rates, and provide insights to support decision-making. Monitor HR metrics and recommend initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and overall satisfaction. Employee Engagement: Promote and support employee engagement activities, including company events, team-building exercises, and recognition programs. Gather employee feedback through surveys or focus groups to identify areas for improvement and support initiatives aimed at improving workplace morale. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A CIPD qualification (or working towards one) is preferred. Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably within the UK, with a solid understanding of UK employment law. Knowledge: Knowledge of WTD, GDPR, and HR best practices. Key Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex employee relations issues. Highly proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
