The Engagement and Development Manager is a dual-role position. The post holder will foster a positive work environment, enhancing employee satisfaction, and ensuring continuous professional growth and development of Dermalogica employees across the UK and Ireland. They will have a passion for people, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach to driving engagement and development initiatives.
Responsibilities of the Engagement and Development Manager:
Employee Engagement:
1. Oversee the onboarding communication process and coordinate company induction days for new hires to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition into the business.
2. Manage the welcoming of new hires to the Leatherhead office and prepare any new starter gift packs.
3. Create and execute programs and initiatives to enhance employee engagement and workplace satisfaction.
4. Plan and coordinate company events and team-building activities to foster a collaborative and positive company culture.
5. Be a wellbeing champion for all company benefits, develop and execute strategies to communicate and promote company benefits, wellness programmes and other initiatives aimed at improving employee well-being.
6. Design and administer employee surveys or polls to gauge engagement levels, analyse results, and implement action plans based on feedback.
7. Continually analyse feedback given on the onboarding survey and create action plans for improvements with line managers.
8. Work closely with the HR Director on the annual employee survey results and put action plans together with each head of department.
9. Collaborate with the GM and Senior Leadership team to ensure effective internal communication strategies are in place.
10. Plan, organise and host the monthly Tribe Talks with the GM.
11. Manage effective communication channels to ensure employees are informed, heard, and valued.
12. Manage cases that come through our anonymous reporting tool via the HRIS.
13. Track and report on engagement metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements to maintain a high level of employee morale.
Staff Development:
1. Support the HR Director in creating a Learning Culture within the business.
2. Design, implement, host and evaluate comprehensive training programs to support employees' professional growth and skill enhancement.
3. Provide guidance on goal setting, feedback and effective performance conversations.
4. Oversee the administration of the LMS, ensuring it is user friendly and accessible to all employees.
5. Curate and maintain a comprehensive library of training materials within the LMS.
6. Provide technical support and training for employees on how to effectively use the LMS platform.
7. Monitor engagement, employee progress, course completion rates and other relevant metrics to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
8. Regularly review and update the LMS content and features to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
Do you have the below skills and experience?
* Level 5 or above CIPD Qualification in L&D, preferred not essential if experience is sufficient.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in either an employee engagement or training and development role.
* Proven ability to develop and implement effective engagement and development strategies in the workplace.
* Experience with HRIS, onboarding and LMS platforms.
* Excellent communication skills from verbal to written.
* Ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights.
* Proven relationship builder.
* Ability to manage multiple workloads.
* Excellent organisational skills with a pro-active nature.
