An opportunity has arisen for a permanent appointment into a Public Health Scientist within the Health Protection Division, Public Health Wales, with a focus on research and epidemiology.
You will join the dynamic and innovative Communicable Disease Inclusion Health Programme (CDIHP) within Health Protection.
The post holder will help develop and shape a robust and impactful programme of research, evaluation, and surveillance to improve understanding and drive action on the key health protection challenges faced by inclusion health groups in Wales. You will work closely with the Principal Researcher, CDIHP, and collaboratively with other programme leads within CDIHP and the wider Health Protection Division to develop innovative research and provide leadership and direction to partners engaging in public health research and evaluation activities. You will work in partnership with academic and external colleagues to design and conduct research, evaluation, surveillance, and develop research funding proposals.
The successful candidate will have experience in using appropriate complex quantitative and/or qualitative approaches in a public health-related field for research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation, service evaluation, and surveillance/epidemiology. You will also have a strong working background in data and statistics.
