Job Title Registered Nurse (RMN/RNMH/RNLD) (RGN with mental health experience) Responsible to Deputy/Manager Responsible for Resident care and welfare and resource management Purpose The main role of the Nurse is to lead the team to deliver a high standard of care to the people we support. The Nurse is responsible for managing the daily mental health and physical care needs of the people we support, liaising with relevant professionals as required. Competencies As Registered Nurse you will utilise evidence-based nursing knowledge and professional nursing judgement to assess health needs, provide nursing care and educate individuals to manage their health. You will practice in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. You are accountable for the service including the supervision and delegation of tasks to the wider team. You will adhere to safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality, and infection control continuously. Key Tasks and Duties Assessing the mental health and physical care needs of the people we support. Alerting relevant professionals in regard to any changes in care. Adhering to and reviewing care plans and risk assessments. Building trust and therapeutic relationships with the people we support. Administering medication as prescribed including intramuscular injections. Monitoring mental and physical health, wellbeing, deterioration and progress. Writing and updating patient records. Applying evidenced based practice to the care you deliver. Ensuring correct documentation of care for the people we support, and all other legal documentation are in order. Giving advice and arranging support for individuals and their relatives, carers, and visitors. Liaising with doctors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals. Utilising the resources available to the benefit of the service. Alerting the on call manager to significant events and actions taken. Accurate and comprehensive documentation of care delivered, including MAR Chart documentation and other clinical documents. Any concerns should be escalated to your manager. Required Qualification or Experience NMC Registered with valid PIN. Degree/Diploma in Nursing. Minimum 6 months of experience in a nursing role. Length of Probation Period 6 Months
