We are currently seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in the NE6 area of Newcastle. Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and maintain science equipment for practical lessons in biology, chemistry, and physics.
* Ensure laboratories are stocked with necessary resources and materials for lessons.
* Provide technical support during practical experiments, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
* Assist with the cleaning, maintenance, and repair of laboratory apparatus and equipment.
* Support the setup and clear-up of practical lessons, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
* Help with managing stock, including chemicals and equipment, ensuring timely ordering and proper storage.
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school or similar educational environment.
* A strong understanding of science practicals and laboratory safety standards.
* A current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to undergo a DBS check through Protocol Education.
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively.
* Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with both staff and students.
* A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting science education.
