Shropshire EWOs work closely with school staff, education support staff, psychologists, social workers, police, health personnel, and many other agencies in both the statutory and voluntary fields. The work is demanding, at times stressful, but most of all very rewarding.
The role includes reviewing, advising, and evaluating attendance procedures in schools. You will work with individual pupils, families, and groups to address poor attendance.
You must have excellent people skills and be able to use management recording systems such as SIMS, Arbor, and Microsoft Office.
We are seeking an individual with school-based experience and a good understanding of the impact on families and young people as we recover from the pandemic. Experience in early intervention and support would also be beneficial.
Please note that appointment to the service can result in county-wide support if required. The potentially working areas may include Central, South, and North Shropshire locations.
