West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Adult Social Care Team as an Occupational Therapist, working in collaboration with the Team Leader within the West Locality. The Role As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality assessments and interventions to support individuals in achieving their maximum independence and improving their overall quality of life. You will work collaboratively with service users, carers, and other professionals to identify and address specific needs, ensuring the delivery of appropriate therapeutic interventions. Your key responsibilities will include: Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' occupational needs and capabilities Providing advice and recommendations for the provision of aids, adaptations, and equipment Collaborating with other professionals to ensure coordinated care and support Delivering therapeutic interventions to promote independence and enhance daily living skills Monitoring and reviewing progress, making adjustments to interventions as necessary The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration. Experience working within a social care setting, ideally with adults in an local authority Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and best practices Excellent assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals who have complex needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Self-motivated and able to manage a diverse caseload. Commitment to continuous professional development.
