I am currently partnered with a market-leading family-run business based in Hull in search of an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team within their Major Works division. My client covers a diverse range of sectors including Commercial, Education, Energy, Healthcare, Housing, Industrial, Leisure, Retail, and Regeneration.
The Role of A Quantity Surveyor:
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for working with the Regeneration team to deliver profitable projects within agreed timescales.
This role will report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Director and will carry out the following:
1. Working within a team to successfully deliver projects ranging from £1-£10 million within a variety of sectors.
2. Responsibility for all commercial aspects of a project including:
1. Valuation of works, manage subcontract accounts and payments.
2. CVRs.
3. Preparation and negotiation of final accounts, cost reporting, value engineering.
4. Assisting the procurement department in producing robust subcontract orders.
5. Preparation of quantities for the Preconstruction department.
6. Promote commercial awareness throughout the Project team.
Your role will work in close partnership with key stakeholders within the Estimating, Commercial, and Construction departments to ensure projects are completed within budgets, timescales, and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
Requirements Of A Quantity Surveyor:
1. Construction-related qualification, preferably BSc (Hons) Degree or similar.
2. Strong technical skills.
3. Good contractual awareness, particularly in JCT and NEC forms of contract.
4. Excellent IT skills across core Microsoft suites and communication skills.
5. CSCS Card.
6. Full Driving Licence.
