The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
Job responsibilities
The borough of Barnet is divided into three Adult CMHTs: North, South and West teams. The Barnet West Locality Team is based at Redhill Clinic alongside the Barnet South Locality Team. The service operates within working hours 9am 5pm Monday through Friday. Outside working times patients may contact the crisis service for support which functions on a 24/7 basis.
The service provides diagnostic assessments and treatment to individuals with severe, complex, and high-risk psychiatric conditions who are 18 years or older. Individuals are usually reviewed face to face at the Redhill clinic; however, Attend Anywhere, a web-based video call service is also employed by the Trust. Following assessment, individuals will be allocated the team caseload, if they fulfill the criteria for a secondary care intervention in terms of severity, risk, complexity, treatment resistance or vulnerability. Otherwise, they will be signposted appropriately or referred elsewhere with an individualized treatment plan.
The role of the psychiatrist is to provide comprehensive assessments, formulate biopsychosocial care plans, and offer evidence-based treatment and advice. The service is recovery-focused and the caseload in clinics will be subject to active caseload management. It is expected that people who are recovered, have a clear care plan and a low index of risk, will be discharged back to Primary Care.
