As a key member of our Employee Relations team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering consistent and professional HR advice across Wilson James. You'll be the go-to person for managers and employees, providing them with the guidance they need to navigate complex employee relations issues.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting our colleagues based at Gatwick Airport, managing grievances, TUPEs, absences and consultations to name a few. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with senior management, line managers, and HR colleagues, ensuring that our people-first culture is at the heart of everything we do. A typical day in the life as an Employee Relations Advisor:
* Management of ER Cases: Oversee the management of Employee Relations cases, ensuring risks are mitigated and providing support when Wilson James is engaged with external third parties in relation to legal proceedings.
* Provide Employment Law and Management Advice: Offer timely and efficient advice on Employment Law and Management for all transactional activities, Employee Relations, and absence casework to HR colleagues, line managers, and external stakeholders as needed.
* Support on TUPE Transfers: Assist the ER Manager, mobilisation, and Senior Business Partner teams on TUPE In and Out contracts, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with legal requirements.
* Formal Employee Consultation: Support all aspects of formal employee consultation arising from changes in the organizational structure, ensuring effective communication and compliance.
* Build and Maintain Relationships: Cultivate and sustain successful relationships with managers, employees, and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
* Maintain Effective Reporting Systems: Implement and manage tracking, management, and reporting systems to ensure the organization has visibility and accountability for all ER activities.
What are we looking for?
* HR experience at a similar level, within a proven background of managing employee relations matters
* Employee Relations Expertise: Proven experience in handling a wide range of ER issues, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance issues.
* HR Policy and Procedure Knowledge: Proficiency in applying HR policies and practices to advise on people management issues.
* Excellent Understanding of Employment Law: In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application in managing ER cases.
* Effective Communication Skills
* Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
* Experience with TUPE Transfers: Prior experience in managing Transfer of Undertakings (TUPE) processes, including employee consultation and integration.
* HR Qualification: CIPD qualification or equivalent in Human Resources.
* HR Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with HR information systems and reporting tools.
* Experience in a Similar Sector
