North Tyneside Council is looking for a highly motivated, customer focussed Building Maintenance Surveyor who will support the Property Services Team to deliver the Authorities Housing Repairs Service.
The successful candidate must have experience of domestic property surveying and be able to identify property defects, create schedules of remedial repairs and may be required to carry out quality assurance inspections following completion of works.
Applicants will be required to survey properties, create reports, draft full specifications, and make recommendations to remedy damp, mould and condensation.
You will need to have good construction related knowledge, experience, and be willing to support a range of procurement and tendering activities.
The successful candidate will be expected to have an understanding of the Governments Decent Homes Standard, Homes Fit for Human Habitation legislation and Housing Disrepairs as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You will also be required to provide technical advice to tenants and colleagues as well as offering energy efficiency advice.
