The Golf Club Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the operations of Denham Golf Club, specifically in relation to membership and diary administration and the management of the visitor programme.
This is an interesting and varied position offering the successful candidate an opportunity to gain broad operational experience at an established private members’ golf club and is ideal for an aspiring Golf Club General Manager. The successful candidate will support the General Manager in the daily running of the Club and will deputise in his absence. Training and mentoring will be provided to enable the successful candidate to develop the skills required to progress in their career on to a General Manager role.

Key Responsibilities
To administer the Club’s membership system including mailings to members, the monthly Direct Debit collections and annual renewals.
To manage all aspects of diary administration, including confirming all annual matches, competitions, social and member functions.
To coordinate the visiting party programme at the Club delivering high levels of customer service to members, their guests, and visitors. This will involve liaison with Heads of Departments to communicate details of the programme of forthcoming events.
To administer the membership applications process for new members.
To assist with maintaining the Club’s website and social media channels, and to assist with internal and external marketing.
To assist the General Manager in the general running of the golf club and delivering the Club’s future operational, financial & strategic objectives, in addition to deputising for him in his absence.
Skills/Personal Qualities
· Confident, positive, and proactive personality with the ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
· Keen and enthusiastic attitude with ambition to succeed, an appetite for hard work, an eye for detail and a thirst for knowledge.
· Strong understanding of golf, its competitive formats, a good working understanding of WHS and the traditions within a private members club
· Good time management and a flexible approach to working hours which could include weekends.
· Strong administration and interpersonal skills, able to manage with tact and diplomacy a large membership with differing views and expectations.
· Must be an effective communicator both written and verbal.
· Experience of golf club software packages, and social media expertise.
· Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Office 365 & ideally Xero
