We are looking for someone with a proven track record in successfully delivering positive ROI for their clients (or company) whether that’s in lead generation, ecommerce, bookings or app downloads, working successfully across a number of ad platforms (Google Ads, Bing Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads and others).
This is a hands-on role where the successful candidate must be self-motivated, willing and capable of solely managing PPC retainers, but they will also have the support of other PPC team members to delegate specific tasks.
As an agency we have a healthy cynicism towards ad platforms and strive to ensure our clients are only paying for what they need. We do not rely on automated bidding or AI to control PPC campaigns; we expect our senior PPC managers to have strong opinions on what is and isn’t worth pursuing in platform selection, campaign types and bidding strategies; and we seek to demonstrate our value to clients via our own analysis and data-driven decision making.
As a result, this role requires someone who is curious and commercial in their approach, who takes the time to truly understand a client’s business and who cares about the quality of their output and how their client’s budget is spent. They also shouldn’t be afraid to push back on the recommendations of ad platform account managers but instead be brave with their own experience and opinions to be truly accountable.
Adido has an array of clients in many different industries (from travel and ecommerce to B2B lead generation) who have a mixture of challenges within paid search and paid social. This variety keeps things exciting and offers new perspectives and opportunities, but it also means that the role requires someone who is capable of adapting and tuning in to both the differences and similarities to maximize performance.
The successful candidate must be:
* Able to demonstrate success at creating, presenting and implementing PPC strategies that deliver commercial results across Google Ads and other ad platforms
* Willing to quickly adapt and learn new techniques, ad platforms and campaign types and apply this knowledge in the best way possible
* Obsessed with PPC, sharing their passion for the specialism with conviction and confidence and always seeking ways to experiment and further their understanding of the market
* Proficient with conversion tracking from recognizing the need for, setting up or briefing implementation and measuring and validating the output
Currently our PPC team is small, but mighty. We have ambitions to grow with the right team in place, and as a senior member of the team this position offers a fantastic opportunity to influence this in the future and be a mentor to others.
The role sits within a dedicated PPC team but it is also part of our wider marketing team which also offers SEO and analytics services.
This is a superb opportunity for someone who is willing to teach, learn from and work within a wider marketing team where the chance to hone and develop their PPC skills and progress is strongly encouraged and where collaborating with other channels is essential to delivering success for our clients.
It is a client-facing role where the day-to-day is focused on leading, planning and executing PPC campaigns, as well as liaising with both clients and other members of the agency with passion, enthusiasm and confidence.
Life at Adido offers huge variety, rewarding challenges and job satisfaction, and we can promise you no two days are ever the same – it keeps us very much on our toes!
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Being responsible for PPC strategies & processes for Adido’s portfolio of clients - putting the client’s objectives at the heart of everything
* Forecasting PPC performance, and devising the right strategy needed to achieve it based on thorough research and expectation of the results
* Planning the monthly schedule of work for assigned client retainers, and briefing other members of the team accordingly
* Taking responsibility for your own set of clients with end-to-end PPC management – planning, implementation, optimisation, reporting and presentation
* Leading, mentoring and inspiring other PPC team members in PPC principles to deliver commercial success
* Educating our clients and our team on the latest events in the world of PPC and the impact it might have on performance now, and in the future
* Championing PPC within the agency and demonstrate how it impacts the wider digital marketing mix
* Keeping up to date with industry trends regarding PPC and being willing to experiment and test new concepts, techniques and tactics to evolve our approach
* Presenting at client meetings, demonstrating expertise in the field of PPC to win their trust and confidence, and to ensure they understand the importance of the work that is being carried out
* Producing performance reports detailing the why and so what behind the data in order to deliver actionable insights
* Pushing for best practice at all times, to ensure the highest standards are introduced, met and maintained - this may require proofing of others’ work, participating in brainstorming sessions or being self-critical of the work being produced by the team
* Working closely with other members of the PPC team as well as wider teams (SEO, UX, designers & developers) to ensure we are all working towards the same goals
Other responsibilities
* To suggest and trial new and current tools to help improve knowledge and insight into the whole PPC landscape
* To assist the sales, client services and marketing teams in new business opportunities & ongoing client communication when requested
* To discuss performance of campaigns with clients directly on email, phone or face to face when requested
* Assist with Adido’s own marketing – running PPC campaigns and/or writing opinion pieces for the blog
* Mentoring and training of others who require PPC knowledge and upskilling - this can be PPC executives, PPC managers or account managers for example
* Line management of PPC team members - being responsible for their welfare and ensuring their actions closely align with the agency's aims
Measurements of success
* Hitting performance targets of PPC campaigns
* Proven ability to strategize and prioritise PPC campaigns effectively
* Helping to improve the commercial performance of the PPC department (sales, client retention, improved efficiency, productivity and profitability)
* Professional development of direct reports to help them succeed and prosper
* Building good relationships with our clients
Is this you?
You’ll champion PPC within the agency and to our clients; bringing energy and enthusiasm to the team; and be a reliable, hard-working and results-focused Senior PPC Manager with good time and people management skills.
To be successful in this role you must have:
* Have an infectious love of PPC, exuding confidence and being impressive when explaining, presenting or discussing it
* Proven ability to conduct well-thought through PPC strategies with a data-driven approach
* Experience managing client campaigns and communicating with clients and colleagues at all levels through face to face & online presentations, written reports and online chat tools
* Experience using tools such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Amazon Ads, Google Analytics, Supermetrics, Hubspot and many more
* Proven ability to report on PPC activity within monthly analysis reports, demonstrating ROI and progress in an evidence-based, data driven way
* Ability to analyse and understand data in order to make informed decisions
* A problem solver who can quickly identify and resolve issues but also someone who is willing to pivot their approach, explore alternatives and determine what PPC could/should deliver to maximise your client’s investment and manage their expectations
* Confidence with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as Google Mail, Google Sheets and Google Docs
* A can-do attitude to see tasks through to the end and be persistent to ensure positive results
* Proven line management / people management skills - demonstrating you have successfully led a team, been responsible for the welfare of others, and/or been a positive influence on others' personal development
* Good attention to detail – whether that’s in how campaigns are set-up, within spelling and grammar across keywords, ads and reports or noticing significant changes in results
Desired skills and experience that will give you the edge:
* Automation - Script creation and/or deployment, automated rules and effective smart bidding strategies
* Closed-loop reporting methodologies and processes
* Attribution know-how and implementation
