Senior Internal Auditor
Job description
Are you looking to advance your career in local government internal auditing and play an important role in a progressive internal audit service within an area that has stunning countryside and attractive towns and villages?
We wish to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who can help us to continue to provide an excellent internal audit service.
You will have very good communication (written and oral) and analytical skills and be able to work to firm deadlines and time allocations, whilst producing high quality work and maintaining excellent relationships with clients.
As Senior Internal Auditor you will have responsibility for your own set of audit assignments, being able to work with minimal supervision. You will also be a good ‘team player’ and contribute to team meetings that help to improve the service we provide.
You will be educated to degree level and a member (through examinations) of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors or one of the UK chartered accountancy bodies (i.e. CCAB qualified).
You will have experience of carrying out internal audits and you should be prepared to demonstrate at the interview a high level of understanding of the modern-day role and operation of internal audit, including knowledge of risk-based auditing and systems-based auditing.
We offer a friendly working environment where you will be supported fully in your role, with the opportunity to gain experience and develop your skills. The Council currently offers ‘hybrid working’, in circumstances where the needs of the service are met. We would expect a higher amount of time in the office initially to allow for initial training and shadowing to be undertaken.
Assessment is planned to take place on either the 12th or 13th September and will comprise a combination of a face-to-face interview and a ‘job test’.
