Role: Mental Health Support Worker Salary: £13.65 per hour Location: Whitton Hours: Full time / Part time Do you enjoy the idea of no two days being the same? United Response is looking for empathetic and compassionate individuals, experienced in mental health support, to join our team in Whitton as a Support Worker. You will be working in our exciting, new, mental health service consisting of a block of 7 self-contained flats, with a small communal space. Our support team will be providing 24-hour support to the seven individuals living in the block of flats, who experience mental health challenges. We are seeking to recruit a dedicated, experienced team who will be working alongside our existing staff. You should ideally have at least one years’ experience of supporting individuals with mental health needs, or similar experience derived from other health support services. Support shifts are delivered on a rota basis with daytime hours between 0700-2200 and sleep-ins (2200-0700). What would you be doing? As a Support Worker with the Mental Health Service, you would be responsible for: Providing support to individuals to access their community for activities, appointments and similar Supporting individuals to maintain and develop their independence & confidence, within a new setting that may be unfamiliar to them. Ensuring individuals are supported positively during crisis and managing complex situations calmly and rationally in line with agreed strategies Contributing to the development of support plans that enrich peoples experience and enable opportunities. Undertake regular training, keeping a pace with current support techniques Working with clinical partners, and Mental Health support networks and other affiliated stakeholders Excellent written, and verbal communication skills, proficient with IT and assistive technology Support individuals to maintain their tenancies and their homes.
