We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join a school in Oxford for March 2025. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop creative problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and a passion for designing and making.
Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Design Technology, covering areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and/or Engineering (depending on expertise).
* Teach practical skills in design, manufacturing, and prototyping using a range of materials and tools.
* Promote creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through hands-on projects.
* Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (if applicable).
* Ensure health and safety procedures are followed in the workshop.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Organise and support extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs or design competitions.
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in Design Technology, Engineering, Product Design, or a related subject.
* Experience teaching Design Technology at different key stages.
* Strong classroom management and communication skills.
* A commitment to inspiring and supporting students.
