Summary
We are looking for proactive and experienced Die Maintenance Technicians and Toolmakers who can transfer their skills to multiple projects within a fast-paced environment. With a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, you will deliver projects and complete daily tasks as part of a close-knit team, all while having the opportunity to develop your own individual technical skills and abilities. Confident with any technical difficulties you may face, you’ll have the self-assurance to ask the right questions and take note of how best to move projects forward. As part of a supportive culture, you’ll collaborate with others effectively, while liaising across multiple departments on a daily basis to ensure that production needs are met successfully.
You should apply if you have:
1. Time served in a toolmaking background and be able to demonstrate your hands-on experience of bench-fitting, machining, and MIG, TIG & ARC welding. Experience of CNC machining and the programming of languages using 3-axis milling machines would be beneficial.
2. An ability to analyze problematic situations to come up with effective solutions quickly and with confidence.
3. Experience of CAD/CAM, including AutoCAD, Delcam, and NX (or their equivalents), is also beneficial for this role.
4. Your understanding of and adherence to safety policies is key, as we utilize a 5S safety system that ensures the workshop is organized, effective, and safe for everyone.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
1. Apply excellent technical skills and root cause analysis, implementing long-term solutions to problems identified during breakdown responses.
2. Think on your feet, prioritize your workload, and have the flexibility to move from one job to another within your shift, managing your time effectively.
3. Carry out planned maintenance tasks and continuous improvement activities to a high level of quality, completing projects that include MIG, TIG & ARC welding, while also working on preventative die and tool maintenance.
4. Take responsibility for successfully delivering projects, communicating with all members of the team and across departments to support cross-functionality, while demonstrating a good attitude towards learning different processes and procedures.
5. Develop your personal skills and embark on training opportunities, motivating yourself to improve your methods and abilities.
