With ambitious plans in place for growth, our client is seeking to hire a hands-on finance professional to lead and manage the finance function with a strong emphasis on control, insight, and financial guidance & support.
Role Overview As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the end-to-end financial management of the business.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting senior leadership through timely, accurate, and insightful management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and cashflow management.
This is a key hire as the business scales and professionalises its finance operations.
This opportunity may be suitable for a seasoned Finance Manager / Controller, or an ambitious Management Accountant looking to take a step forward in their career.
Key Responsibilities include: Management Reporting & Analysis Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts to senior leadership Analyse financial performance, providing commentary and insights on key variances Develop and maintain financial KPIs to support business decision-making Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing reforecasting cycles Work with department heads to create and manage departmental budgets Build financial models to support business planning and scenario analysis Cashflow & Working Capital Manage and forecast short- and long-term cashflow requirements Monitor working capital, liaising with suppliers and customers where necessary Optimise cash position and ensure liquidity to support operations and growth Financial Operations & Controls Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes Oversee day-to-day finance operations including AP/AR, credit control, payroll coordination, and VAT returns Work with external accountants and auditors for year-end accounts and compliance Financial/Strategic Support Support the MD and CEO on financial strategy and business decisions Support funding and investment activities as required Contribute to commercial discussions, contract reviews, and pricing strategies Person Specification Essential Accounting Professional with a minimum of 5-years experience ideally gained in an SME environment Strong experience producing management accounts and managing budgets Proven ability to manage cashflow in a small to medium-sized company Experience in a fast-paced, growing business environment Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills Hands-on, proactive, and commercially minded approach Desirable Experience in tech or a related sector Familiarity with Sage or similar cloud-based accounting systems What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits Flexible working arrangements (2-days per week WFH) The opportunity to shape the finance function in a growing company For further details please contact Billy McCarthy, Amplifi Talent, using the contact details below.
